Marijuana
initiation And Dropping Out
In high school, fitting in is something that many
teens struggle with. The use of marijuana, usually due to peer pressure can
have some major negative outcomes on one’s ability to integrate in to societies
institutions, for instance if a person who drops out of high school due to
marijuana addiction will have a lower education. This lower education will make
it very difficult for that person to integrate into the job market and therefore
making it hard to earn a descent salary. A study done by Bray et AL. (2000)
shows that there is a positive correlation between marijuana initiation and
dropping out of high school, based on 1392 person survey, age 16- 18 (Jeremy W. Bray, 2000)
Jeremy W. Bray, G. A. (2000). The relationship Between
Marijuana Initiation and Dropping out of High School. Health Economict,
9-18.
