In a study conducted to review effects of
marijuana craving and relief standards in schizophrenic patients with cannabis
use disorders, even though cannabis use has bad longterm effects to the disease
Thomas Schnell, Theresa Becker, Marie Chantal Theil and Euphrosyne
Gouzoulis-Mayfrank tested 51 schizophrenic people using cannabis and also a
control group of another 51 healthy people. Participants were tested on a seven
point scale 3 points regarding the reward of smoking and 4 points on the
relief. Results of the study showed that the schizophrenic patients with
cannabis use disorders smoked more than the control group did on average. They
also showed a greater craving intensity and relief of craving. However the
control group of cannabis use disorder participants scored the reward craving
relief higher than the schizophrenic cannabis use disorder patients.
