Troubled teens and
marijuana dependence
According to the addiction research and treatment
service at the University of Colorado have studied that teens with antisocial
personalities are more likely to become dependent on drugs and the dependence
is likely to be a very rapid one. This could lead to social isolation from
specific groups or activities in the study they found that 66% of people give
up important activities just to acquire marijuana (Mona W.
Brown, 1998)
this removes them from their daily routines and lives when we think about how
much time some people might spend just trying to contact a dealer or wait for
the dealer, this can take up a large portion of a person’s day when we consider
that the person spends time consuming the drug as well. This is a pretty good
reason why some teens may be more antisocial or seen as deviant just due to the
fact that their day almost revolves around this dependence and withdraws them
from some of their social activities.
