Marijuana
and its effects on school and social life
A study done by the National Institution on Drug
Abuse shows that individual who use marijuana are functioning at a reduced
intellectual level. People who use and abuse marijuana report low levels of
life satisfaction and achievement levels (abuse, 2012). Also stated that heavy consumers of
marijuana have lower educational accomplishments and lower scores in every
social aspect of their lives, (work, mental health, physical health and career achievements)
making it harder for them to integrate into society. In a work environment people who smoke
marijuana are more likely to be late for work and cause more work related
accidents, making it harder to integrate into the work force.
