effects of marijuana in work and society

Marijuana and its effects on school and social life

A study done by the National Institution on Drug Abuse shows that individual who use marijuana are functioning at a reduced intellectual level. People who use and abuse marijuana report low levels of life satisfaction and achievement levels (abuse, 2012). Also stated that heavy consumers of marijuana have lower educational accomplishments and lower scores in every social aspect of their lives, (work, mental health, physical health and career achievements) making it harder for them to integrate into society.  In a work environment people who smoke marijuana are more likely to be late for work and cause more work related accidents, making it harder to integrate into the work force.
