Numbing the Pain of Social Exclusion with Marijuana

Marijuana Buffers the Pain of Social Exclusion

The feeling of social exclusion can sometimes be just as bad as physical pain, when it comes to marijuana, which some can use to numb the pain of social exclusion. This may be an effective treatment for social exclusion but it does not target the roots of why this person is being socially excluded (Jacobs, 2013). Social factors such as poverty or poor social skills which if deviant can cause social exclusion, the consumption of marijuana would still make that person socially excluded, just with less pain. Social problems seem to have less of an impact on those who smoke marijuana according to Tom Jacobs.
